Delivered from Deadly Diseases

Posted on: January 6th, 2015 by Florli Nemeth No Comments

In desiring to pray effectively for a friend who is suffering with cancer, I was asking God to show me how to pray.

Recently I picked up a book entitled “Bulletproof: Accessing the Favor and Protection of God in the Secret Place” by Jeff Rostocil.  Jeff is a new author for me, but it was the subject of a favourite psalm that drew me to his book – Psalm 91.

This morning I read chapter 4 on “Deliverance”, covering verse 1: “Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence“, or as the New Living Translation puts it, “He will protect you from deadly disease“.

Jeff states, and I quote,  that “the Most High God not only SHELTERS from the storm, but He also RESCUES.  He is both a DEFENDER and a DELIVERER.  When we find ourselves in a war, He is the Commander of the Armies of the Lord. ”

When we find ourselves fighting a battle with sickness and disease, contending for healing and deliverance, it is absolutely imperative that we fight with the Word of God.  I often turn to Psalm 91 when praying for healing whether for myself or for others.  When we take the Word of God and turn it into prayer, we are fighting with the Word.

Psalm 91 outlines how to contend for our healing –

  1. Take refuge under His wings (verse 4) – hide under His shadow
  2. Hold onto the Word of God tightly, don’t let it go (verse 4) – put it into your own words and pray it aloud
  3. Don’t fear a singlt thing (verses 5 & 6) – God always reassures us with “fear nots” and He promises that the enemy cannot lay a hand on us
  4. Know your position over the work of the enemy (verse 13) – he is under your feet, and you can trample him and walk unharmed
  5. Know who you are in Christ – you are a beloved son or daughter of the King of kings and Lord of lords, and He has chosen to protect you (verse 14)

Yes, we are safe and secure in the shelter of Almighty God!  He enfolds us in His massive arms, protecting us, keeping us from harm.

No matter what the challenge we face in life, it is good for us to go back to what we know to be absolutely true of God, to declare His Word boldly, and to fearlessly proclaim His ability to heal, deliver and conquer all power of the enemy.  The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy.  Jesus comes to give life, and to give it to us more abundantly.

I would like to encourage all who read this by saying that God hears our faintest prayer, sees our smallest steps of faith, and He is pleased when His children take His Word and remind Him of it, even if they do so in fear and trembling.  God’s heart is so very delighted when we pour our hearts out before Him.  We come to Him in our weakness, and He comes to us in His strength!  I so love that about God!

Hearing from God

Posted on: March 5th, 2014 by Florli Nemeth No Comments

I just discovered a book on the prophetic written by Jim Wies entitled, “His Glorious House:  A Blueprint for the 21st Century Church“.

Jim’s observations regarding the manner of perceiving God’s thoughts stood out to me, and I quote:   “Some SEE, others HEAR, while others FEEL.  Scripture speaks of a spiritual aroma and that we can taste and see that the Lord is good (2 Cor. 2:15,16/Psalm 34:8).”

I am encouraged by this to pursue the prophetic more passionately and with greater understanding of the differences in how we hear from God, not patterning ourselves after others, but opening our hearts to hear God’s voice in the way  WE most clearly and commonly discern His voice.

STAY

Posted on: October 30th, 2013 by Florli Nemeth No Comments

I am amazed to note that Jesus revealed Himself so clearly to the Samaritan woman in John 4.  He just said, “I am the Messiah”.  Once she knew who He was, she BEGGED Him to STAY!  I love that!

Jesus can be persuaded by our hunger and thirst to “stay” with us.  Yes, He is with us always and will never leave us, but YES, He loves to reveal Himself more clearly to those who invite Him to “stay”, to those who linger in His presence hanging on His every word.

Carefree in God’s Love

Jesus brings you into the Father’s presence today, without a single fault!  According to Jude 24 He does this with great joy.

And He says to us today, “Don’t deprive Me of the joy I feel over you.  Agree with My Word!  Cooperate with Me! Rest in My favor and love over you.  You make Me smile, and You bring the Father so much joy.”

Loved with an Everlasting Love

The Father loves us with an everlasting love that nothing can ever change – not our failures, not our short-comings, not our insecurities or misconceptions.  He simply loves us and covers us with His blood and with His robe of  righteousness.

He knows the secrets of our hearts – our dreams, our hopes, our fears – and  I am comforted to know He cares so deeply, so lovingly.  When I gaze at Him, I become like Him – not all knowing as He, but I begin to see things more clearly and accurately and according to His Word.

I want my life to align with His Word, His plan, His purpose.

Perfectly Loved

Have you ever grieved over your imperfections and wished you could just do better?  I’ve done that so many times, but today I was so blessed by Psalm  18:30-32 where David said “God’s way is perfect, and He makes MY way perfect.”  Yes, He who began a good work in us, will complete it and perfect it up until the day of Jesus Christ according to Philippians 1:6.  And I love the prayer in Hebrews 13:21:  “May the God of peace make you what you ought to be and equip you with everything goo that you may carry out His will”, Amplified.

What an awesome encouragement and comfort to know that the ONE who is holy and perfect loves us perfectly and is developing in us maturity, fruitfulfness, and a flourishing life.  We are released today to live in His love.  It’s not about ME or YOU living a “perfect” life – it’s about what the God of love is accomplishing in our lives to conform us to His image.  He delights in YOU and ME, and that’s all that matters!

Psalm 29:10 & 11, Isaiah 43:1 and Zephaniah 3:17

God makes us strong and gives us peace.  His throne is ABOVE the flood waters, and it is from His Throne that His power flows to us and to the world.

In the midst of every storm of life God comes to us, picks us up, wraps us in His arms of love and says to the storm, “It is enough – NO MORE – Be still!”

He quiets my heart with His love and makes me strong in His strength.  He calms me with His love and delights me with His songs.

Ponder today on these scriptures and on His promises to YOU!  He is an awesome God!
